Beverage Digest first reported that the Coca-Cola Company began test marketing Vio in New York in May 2009.  BevNet further described the drink to be a carbonated dairy drink on July 10, 2009.  On July 28, 2009,  London's Guardian also reported the debut of Vio Vibrancy beverage being test marketed in the Big Apple.

Vio Vibrancy's website shows this new beverage in four flavors: Tropical Colada, Citrus Burst, Peach Mango and Very Berry, to debut in New York City this summer.  The new drink comes in 8 ounce aluminum bottles. Has anyone seen this drink yet?

Coca-Cola Japan has marketed beverages with dairy ingredients under the Fanta and Qoo brands.  Swire Coca-Cola has also sold Fanta Lactic in both Taiwan and Hong Kong a few years ago.  Japan's Calpis Water (marketed as Calpico in the US) has been marketing its flagship yogurt-flavored drink for many decades.  Could Vio Vibrancy just a North American version of the Fanta Lactic or the Calpis Water?

According to the US Patent & Trademark Office, Vio is a registered trademark of The Coca-Cola Company filed March 20, 2008. The mark is used for the following goods and services: milk based beverages containing fruit; soy based beverages used as a milk substitute containing fruit; and yogurt based beverages; and non-alcoholic beverages, namely, carbonated beverages and soft drinks; soy based beverages containing fruit and not being a milk substitute.

By the way, The Coca-Cola Company already markets Vio brand water in Germany with a right-side up "i" whereas the Vio Vibrancy drink has an upside-down i or an exclamation mark ! instead of the i in the mark.
